RS Tera Class Association run Worlds Regatta Fleet through Watersports Centre
This year’s RS Tera World Championship featured a regatta fleet for the first time, run by the Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre, Portland.
The next generation of 20 cross-country Tera sailors, spent the week pushing their limits, making new friends and getting class specific coaching in their own RS Tera’s.
The 5 day event was created to run alongside the official World’s competition so that we could help increase participation from a grass roots level. The morning’s were specific coaching sessions where the children could ask anything they wanted and learn the necessities for racing RS Tera’s. This fed directly into the afternoon of racing, where the sailors could put their coaching points into action and show off on the race course.
The final results saw Poppy Kilpatrick of HISC taking 1st place, Alex Sydenham from Dell Quay SC in 2nd, with Wilsonian SC sailor Charlotte White in 3rd.
