420 Open Training

The next step for crew pairings wanting to move through the squad system, the 420’s are a popular youth class as they feed directly into the Olympic pathway. If you’ve just made the transition or are looking to refine your skills, our training weekends can help you to develop your sailing skills and fine tune your technique as a crew.

We are extremely grateful to our partners, Nautivela, who have provided us with the use of a 420 fleet, and Olimpic Sails for kitting the boats out with brand new sails, enabling us to further increase participation within the team.

To make this level of sailing accessible to all, and in line with the Andrew Simpson Foundation’s charitable objectives, we are pleased to be able to offer equipment and training subsidies to those who may not ordinarily be provided with the opportunity to participate. If you feel like you would benefit from support for this training series, either through subsidies or use of equipment, then please contact hermione@andrewsimpsonfoundation.org for an application form.
